Smart 3D-Printed aligners could revolutionize open bite treatment

NCT ID NCT07420777

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether 3D-printed shape memory aligners can fix an anterior open bite (where front teeth don't touch) in adults. About 51 people aged 18-35 will wear the aligners for 6-8 months. Researchers will compare three groups: standard aligners with attachments, new 3D-printed aligners without attachments, and new aligners with attachments. The goal is to see which works best and if the new design can move teeth without extra attachments.
