New plastic jaw plates tested against standard metal
NCT ID NCT07156812
Summary
This study tested whether custom-made 3D plastic (PEEK) plates work as well as standard 3D titanium plates for fixing broken jaw angles. Eighteen patients with recent jaw fractures were randomly assigned to receive either the plastic or metal plate. Researchers followed them for 12 weeks to compare healing, bite strength recovery, and other recovery factors.
