Virtual surgery map aims to end repeat operations for Crohn's patients
NCT ID NCT06587646
Summary
This study is testing a new 3D visualization tool designed to help surgeons better plan operations for painful fistulas caused by Crohn's disease. The tool creates a detailed 3D model from MRI scans, which surgeons can use to see the complex fistula anatomy before surgery. Researchers hope this leads to more accurate, confident surgeries, fewer repeat procedures, and better long-term control of the condition for the 30 patients in the trial.
