New 3D plate shows promise for jaw fracture repair

Summary

This study tested a special 3D plate to fix broken jaw bones near the joint. Fourteen adults with a single-side jaw fracture received surgery using this plate. Doctors checked bone healing with CT scans right after surgery and 3 months later, and assessed pain and jaw movement at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after surgery.
