New super vaccine tested in kids to fight more pneumonia strains

NCT ID NCT06550830

Summary

This study tested a new 24-strain pneumococcal vaccine (PCV24) in 119 healthy children aged 2-17 years to see if it is safe and triggers a strong immune response. It was an early-phase trial comparing the new vaccine against an existing 13-strain vaccine in younger children. The main goal was to monitor for side effects and measure antibody levels against pneumonia-causing bacteria.
