Fewer plates, same precision? jaw surgery study tests simpler fix

NCT ID NCT07418684

First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether using just two custom 3D-printed titanium plates to fix the upper jaw after surgery is as accurate as using four plates. Ten people needing jaw realignment surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see if using fewer plates can reduce hardware without compromising the surgical result.
