Summary

This study tests a supplement called 2-HOBA in 72 people with familial hypercholesterolemia, an inherited condition causing very high cholesterol. Participants take 2-HOBA or a placebo for 6 weeks to see if it improves how their 'good' HDL cholesterol works. The goal is to reduce heart disease risk, not cure the condition.
