Decade-Long study tracks why young people lose teeth to gum disease
NCT ID NCT04926519
Summary
This study followed 471 young adults with gum disease for over 10 years to understand how the disease gets worse over time. Researchers wanted to find out what factors cause the disease to progress and why some young patients stop their treatment. They also looked for biological signs in saliva that could help identify people at high risk of severe gum disease early.
