Study challenges Hours-Long wait for emergency scans

NCT ID NCT07268248

Summary

This study aims to see if a 1-hour allergy premedication is as safe as the standard 4-hour regimen for patients with a known contrast allergy who need an urgent CT scan. It will enroll 540 adults in the emergency department who require a scan for a serious, life-threatening condition. The goal is to provide evidence for a faster pre-treatment method that could speed up critical diagnoses without increasing risk.
