First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a set of tools to help pediatric doctors better document and discuss sickle cell trait (SCT) results with families. SCT is often found during routine newborn screening, but many doctors fail to record or share this information. The study involved 114 healthcare providers and measured how acceptable and useful the tools were. The goal was to improve communication and ensure families know their child's SCT status.
