New hope for high-risk aneurysm patients: minimally invasive stent repair

NCT ID NCT02323581

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a new, less invasive way to treat complex aortic aneurysms (bulges in the main artery) in the chest and abdomen. It uses special stents (small mesh tubes) placed through blood vessels, avoiding open surgery. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and works well for patients who are at high risk for traditional surgery. About 520 participants will be followed for at least a year to check for complications and long-term success.
